What do I do if a user is stuck in the system?
Symptoms:
A user is stuck in the system and shows as “Currently Logged In” but is no longer active.
Cause:
Varies but often is caused by an illegal shut down of the computer.
Resolution:
If a user is stuck in the system and you need to remove the invalid user, there are 2 ways to do this:
- From the Log In screen
- Select a user with Master User credentials (such as Administrator).
- Enter the Password ARS-RM2000 and click OK to log in.
- If the user you selected was a Master User, and you typed the password correctly, you should be prompted with another password box. Enter the Real password for this account (leave blank if no password is used).
- Select OK to continue.
- Select the user in question and click on the Trash Can to remove the stuck user.
- Press the Clear Locks button and press OK to the popup message when it is done.
- Select OK to close the screen
- From within the software (if you were already logged in)
- Go to Tools then Administration then Users Currently Logged in.
- Select the user in question, and click on the Trash Can to remove the stuck user.
- Press the Clear Locks button, and press OK to the popup message when “Clear Locks” is done.
- Select OK to close the screen.
More Information:
Try both procedures to clear the unwanted user. Logging out of the program will not clear the name. Contact ARS Technical Support if the above procedure is ineffective.
