What do I do if I try to log into RM2000 and I get messages like “File in Use” or “Try Again Later”?
Symptoms:
When you are attempting to log into Route Manager and are prompted with the following message: Rebuilding or Packing Data, Try again later or Files in use, Rebuilding or Packing Data.
Cause:
There are several causes related to locked files. The problem is easily corrected by following the procedure below.
Resolution:
Follow the steps below to clear the locked files:
- Right click on the shortcut to the Route Manager software located on your desktop.
- Left click on Properties.
- Highlight the text in the Target path field.
- Right click the target path, and select Copy.
- Go to Start, select Run.
- Paste the shortcut path from the properties menu (Right click, and choose paste).
- Then hit the spacebar once, then type: REMLOCKS.
- Depending on the software you have, the command should look similar to:
- For Route Manager 2000: C:\RM2000\RM2000.exe /REMLOCKS or R:\RM2000.EXE /REMLOCKS depending on where you have installed the software…….
- Depending on the software you have, the command should look similar to:
- Press the Enter key on your keyboard or press the OK button.
- Route Manager should briefly appear on your screen then close. Now you may launch the program and log in following normal procedures.
Note: This command is known as the “Remlocks” command.
