What do I do if I try to view EF2000 documents and all I get is a screen that says Convert.bmp?
Symptoms:
When you are attempting to view EF2000 documents and when you double
click on the document to view it all you see is a message that says
Convert.bmp.
Cause:
The cause of this issue is that the default viewer for bmp files has been changed to something other than paint.
Resolution:
Follow the steps below to reset the registry
- Get to a command prompt within the operating system
- Type regedit to access the Registry Editor
- Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
- Next find the bmp folder and select it.
- The (Default) should be set to Paint.Picture
- If it is not, Right mouse click on the (Default) folder and select modify
- Under Value Data: type Paint.Picture
- Next click OK
- On the menu click File and then exit.
- At the command prompt type exit to close this window
